From the moment you arrive:
You have all the comforts of home... with the added safety of a hospital. Normal deliveries are performed in one of our birthing rooms designed for all stages of childbirth. Caesarean sections are performed in our fully equipped operating room located on the same floor.

The birthing rooms are newly decorated and spacious. There is enough room for you & your family to be comfortable and still allows complete privacy.

Once you baby arrives:
We want you to be with your baby as much as you want. A nurse will provide for your needs and you have the opportunity to ask as many questions as needed. It is a special time of learning how to care for your new family member. The nursery is available should you desire quiet time.

Special Beginnings offers a variety of options even before the baby is born. You can select from a variety of educational programs.

• Prepared Childbirth Classes: This program is a four-week childbirth preparation series for expectant parents. Topics include basic female anatomy, basic nutrition during pregnancy, common discomforts of pregnancy, prelude to labor, relaxation techniques for labor and delivery, stages of labor, the birth process and post-partum hospital stay.

• Sibling Class: To assist with the acceptance of the new family member, older brothers and sisters are invited during one of the Childbirth Classes. It allows them the opportunity to feel a part of the experience of Mom having a new baby, while preparing them for the responsibility of being a big brother or sister.

• Maternity Tours: You are invited to tour the unit to familiarize you with the hospital setting. This is set up at a convenient time to you during your pregnancy.

• Breastfeeding Class: This one-time session of instruction is available from the professional staff of our Special Beginnings Unit. After your baby is born, our nursing personnel will continue to assist you with any questions you may have.

• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for High Risk Infants: Prior to leaving the hospital, trained CPR professionals will instruct you in basic CPR techniques and prepare you to assist your high-risk baby in the events of an emergency.

You will have special choices with Special Beginnings.

• Birth Room: The birth room offers a natural approach to giving birth. It provides the comfort of a home-like setting with the security of knowing that hospital facilities are immediately available. The Birth Room is an option for those who have attended the Prepared Childbirth Classes.

• Epidural Anesthesia: Epidural anesthesia and spinal anesthesia are available. 

Special programs include:

• Stork Club: The birth of your baby is a cause for celebrating, and the Special Stork Club provides all you'll need for a celebration. Amenities include a special dinner for mother and guest, and gifts for the new baby and the parents.
