BILOXI, MISSISSIPPI (January 10, 2012 by Lori Bickel, Hospital News) - Biloxi Regional Medical Center is pleased to sponsor the 55 Alive/Mature Driving Course instructed by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). AARP developed this classroom refresher course to help drivers 55 years of age or older to update their knowledge and skills, prevent traffic crashes and violations and maintain mobility and independence.
The course covers age-related physical changes, declining perceptual skills, rules of the road, local driving problems and license renewal requirements. Volunteer instructors are recruited and trained by AARP and conduct the course. Four (4) courses will be held in 2012 on the following dates and times: February 17th from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.; April 16th from 12:30 – 5:00 p.m.; June 15th from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.; and October 18th from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Classes will be held in Biloxi Regional Medical Center’s private dining room. The cost for the course is $12 for members and $14 for non-members. For more information or to register, please call (228) 436-1228.
