Imaging and Radiology
The latest diagnostic and imaging technology
Biloxi Regional offers a full range of technologically advanced imaging services to provide patients with high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic services. Our digital imaging technology allows doctors to access test results immediately, so treatment can begin more quickly.
The Department of Radiology is comprised of five modalities: Diagnostic Radiology (X-ray), Computed Tomography (CT and CAT Scan), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Diagnostic Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine.
Procedures are performed using highly complex equipment. The department is staffed by qualified technologists trained to perform the diagnostic procedures ordered by your physician. The studies are interpreted by Radiologists who have been specially trained to “read” the images made by the technologists. Many of the diagnostic procedures are available, on a routine basis, throughout the day. In the event of an after-hours emergency, there are technologists “on-call.” There are some radiology procedures that require special patient preparation prior to performing the exam. These preparations generally begin the evening before your test. If you are to have such an exam, your nurse will explain the procedure and its preparation to you. Some tests require you to receive an intravenous injection of contrast material in order to enhance certain parts of the body on the images. For more information, call (228) 436-1111.
